HESS Uhren \u2013 how we created a brand from passion<\/h1><\/div>

We decided to develop and\u00a0craft our own watch. This decision was preceded by a phase of introspection,\u00a0accompanied by ambivalent feelings about a career-switching entry into the\u00a0watchmaking industry.\u00a0Determination and passion won: HESS Uhren was\u00a0established.<\/h3>\n

About confidence and\u00a0self-determination<\/h3>\n

Walter’s career was\u00a0characterized and supported by a fascination with watches and their mechanical\u00a0inner life. His exceptional affinity with design and style was nurtured by a\u00a0tenure in an art school in the UK and\u00a0enriched by his eclectic interests and\u00a0trips all over the world.<\/p>\n

My initial training was in a\u00a0technical branch of the healthcare industry, followed by community service\u00a0commitments that gave me a wide range of insights into the inception of\u00a0businesses and marketing approaches.\u00a0During this period, I honed the\u00a0communication skills needed to inspire public enthusiasm for and dedication to\u00a0new ideas and projects.<\/p>\n

So now, what do we do with\u00a0our precious lives, in addition to children, a home, and our main occupations?\u00a0How can we leverage out talents, shared convictions, differences, and\u00a0complementary traits? What excites us\u00a0most?<\/p>\n

A bold lateral entry with\u00a0panache<\/h3>\n

As career switchers, it\u00a0wasn’t easy for us toe immerse ourselves into the realm of timepieces, to find\u00a0the right suppliers, and to win them over for our ideas. In many respects, our\u00a0approach was unconventional and we\u00a0didn’t want to work with ordinary materials.\u00a0Additionally, despite very small series, we wanted to have everything done in\u00a0line with our expectations and quality benchmarks.<\/p>\n

We soon realized that our\u00a0approach met with approval and were doubly satisfied: On the one hand, we got\u00a0exactly what we expected, and on the other, our suppliers were delighted to\u00a0have the opportunity to add new\u00a0skills to their portfolios. Self-confidence and\u00a0joy grew.<\/p>\n

Passion for a new career<\/h3>\n

Our two children were young\u00a0at that time, and I recall several situations in which I had phone calls with\u00a0producers about problems involving the manufacturing process for a dial while\u00a0taking care of the kids and\u00a0cooking dinner for the family.<\/p>\n

To this very day, we create,livelihood. Our objective is to attain the\u00a0turnaround point and make HESS watches our passionate main occupation. We’re\u00a0working hard to achieve that.<\/p>\n

Shared happiness and\u00a0gratitude<\/h3>\n

On the way, it takes much\u00a0perseverance and discipline to deal with difficulties and find solutions. But\u00a0the small successes, the memorable ones that are worth celebrating, are what\u00a0motivate us most.<\/p>\n

We consider the process to be\u00a0an exercise involving personal maturity and are very grateful for the privilege\u00a0of being able to share our success with others.<\/p>\n

Courage and composure<\/h3>\n

We are often confronted with\u00a0the implication that no one waited for us and our watches. I would like to\u00a0refute that because our customers are proving that the statement is incorrect.\u00a0They indeed have waited for a HESS\u00a0watch. Pessimistic statements like the above\u00a0simply prevent one from being courageous enough to take the initiative. They\u00a0didn’t prevent us from looking forward.<\/p>\n

And neither did the big watch\u00a0brands deter us from persevering. Of course, it is impossible to overlook or\u00a0underestimate the development of traditional brands. But we see our strength in\u00a0the composure and timelessly\u00a0classic design that HESS watches radiate. That’s\u00a0exactly what our customers appreciate.<\/p>\n

More latitude for personality<\/h3>\n

This off-mainstream composure\u00a0is what addresses the desire for genuinely livable individuality. Many people\u00a0find delight in owning something that is personal and precious, that sets\u00a0itself apart from what is ordinary in\u00a0terms of style and legacy.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
